Jurkovič′s picnic basket
We provide the option of a picnic as an additional service to accommodation at the castle. It can also be given as a gift in the form of a voucher.
We offer a unique opportunity to spend romantic and relaxing moments in the castle garden with our picnic basket full of fresh delicacies.

You can order picnic basket for two persons.
The basket is named after the architect Dušan Jurkovič - famous historical person connected with the Castle in Nové Město nad Metují.
The basket is supplied by the "Barn" ("Stodola") - Farmer′s Grocery Store in Nové Město nad Metují.
The picnic items include e.g. sourdough bread, smoked thigh, farm sausage, cheese, honest yogurt, cookies, praline, chocolate truffle, cider, half and half beer or fruit wine.
You can have the picnic in the period from May 1st to September 30th (weather permitting) within the opening hours of the Castle.
PRICE: 850 CZK / 2 persons
Refundable deposit: CZK 1.200 (collected when renting a basket and returned after handing it over to the Castle Administration)
The picnic basket can be ordered:
- at least 48 hours in advance
- from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
