"The Castle through the Eyes of a Photographer" Photographic Competition
The annual Photographic Competiton is announced. The 11th year is held from May 1st to September 30th, 2024.
We proudly are present photographs and their authors that were awarded the prizes in the 7th year of the Competition.

Competition Rules
"The Castle through the Eyes of a Photographer" Photographic Competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers. The participation in the competition is not limited by age, citizenship, type of the camera used (with the exception of analog ones) or by the date of taking the photograph.
Categories of the Photographic Competition:
Category 1: The Castle in Nové Město nad Metují (interiors)
Category 2: The Castle in Nové Město nad Metují and the Castle Garden (exteriors)
Category 3: The Most Imaginative Photograph Taken on the Castle Premises
Dates
The competition is open for entries from May 1st to September 30th of the given year. The winners will be announced and presented the prizes during the festive advent benefit concert held in that year. After that, the photographs will be posted on the www.zameknm.cz website, on social networks of the Castle etc. Winning photographs in all the three categories in the given year will be framed and displayed (together with the author′s name) at the permanent exhibition on the Castle premises.
Prizes
Category 1: Gift certificate worth CZK 500.00 to be spent in the Restaurant Zámecké sklepy
Category 2: Gift certificate for a picnic in the Castle Garden (the "Jurkovič" Basket for two persons)
Category 3: Free family ticket for the tour of the Castle + a bottle of wine
Main Prize (for the best photograph of the competition in all categories):
A Weekend Stay (Saturday-Sunday) for two persons in the Castle Suite named "Anna Bartoňová of Dobenin′s" (the stay includes breakfast and a guided tour of the Castle).
Terms and Conditions of the Competition and Judging
Only those entries that relate to the Castle in Nové Město nad Metují and/or its close vicinity shall be accepted for the Competition. Participants shall complete the respective application form for the competition and sign it. By their signature, the participants confirm that they note the Rules of the Competition and that they agree with them. No entries shall be accepted without the application duly completed and signed. Material prizes (if any) shall not be sent to the winners. They will be presented during the festive announcing ceremony or they will be ready for collection at the Castle in Nové Město nad Metují by prior arrangement over telephone (491 470 159). The winners shall be informed about their places in the competition through their E-mail addresses. If the winner is under 18, the prize shall be accepted by his/her legal guardian. The winners are not allowed to require financial performance in exchange for the prizes won in the competition.
The entries will be judged by members of the Bartoň family and by employees of the Castle Management.
The decision of the judges is final and unappealable.
Format of the Entries and Manner of Submitting Them
We reserve the right to accept digital photographs in the jpg format only.
The entries (photographs) in the preview quality (max. 1 MB each) should be sent to fotosoutez@zameknm.cz within the period starting May 1 and ending September 30 of the given year. The maximum number of entries is 3 per photographer per year irrespective of the category.
